Police attended a security alert in the Castlewood Park area of Ballymoney this morning, Sunday, 9 June following the discovery of a suspicious object.
ATO attended the scene and have declared this object an elaborate hoax.
A number of residents were evacuated from their homes.
Inspector Davy Burns said: “I would like to thank residents for their patience and co-operation throughout the duration of this security alert. I would also appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact Police at Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
