RUAS to join Chamber of Commerce

THE Royal Ulster Agricultural Society is to become a member of the Lisburn Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking on the decision to join the Chamber, Colin McDonald, RUAS Chief Executive said, “The RUAS aims to become a positive addition to the greater Lisburn area. The Balmoral Show along with the other events that will run at the venue will bring a large footfall and in turn an economic benefit to the locality.”

He continued: “We also aim to continue this with both the development of a Centre of Rural Excellence and the growth of Balmoral Park as an events venue. Joining the Chamber provides us with an opportunity to network and build mutually beneficial relationships with local companies that will in turn boost the Lisburn economy.”

Lisburn Chamber of Commerce President, Belinda O’Neill, commented: “Lisburn City has always had very strong roots and association with the agricultural community and we’re delighted that ‘Balmoral Park’ will be based locally. The Chamber looks forward to being involved in providing whatever support is needed to deliver a first class exhibition venue.”

She added “The Chamber are delighted that RUAS have joined as members and we see this and the further developments planned for the Maze/Long Kesh site as presenting major business opportunities for the local community as a whole which will help develop Lisburn in the next few years as a destination city for a range of visitors both locally and internationally.”
