Reminder overhospital emergency

The Northern Health and Social Care Trust has issued a reminder over attending hospital accident and emergency .

The Whiteabbey Minor Injury Unit remains temporarily closed.

A consultation on the future of the unit ran from September until December 2015.

The outcome of this consultation was approved by Trust Board in January of this year and was subsequently submitted for approval to the Regional Health and Social Care Board.

A spokesperson said: “In case of an emergency, residents can make their way to any emergency department and it would be a matter of choice as to whether this was a Belfast hospital or Antrim Area Hospital Emergency Department.”
