Primate Dixon Primary School Coalisland pupils, Niamh Haughey, Lucy Devlin, Finnan Canning and Ben Campbell, took some time out of classes to help the new Finance Minister, Máirtín Ó Muilleoir to sow seeds for a wildflower meadow on the Stormont Estate.
The new meadow is supported by RSPB to mark its 50th anniversary and will encourage birdlife.
The Minister, who is responsible for the Stormont Estate, is also pictured here with Joanne Sherwood, Director of RSPBNI.
Wildflower meadow areas have recently been introduced to the estate, increasing the diversity of the habitat.
The Wildflower meadows contain perennial species like Field Scabious, Ragged Robbin, Cuckoo Flower, Primrose, Ox-eye Daisy and Birds Foot Trefoil.
According to the Northern Ireland Assembly website, it is planned to increase the species by the inclusion of Welsh Poppy Mecanopsis Cambrica, Woodruff Galium odoratum, Ramsons Allium ursinum and possibly Lily of the Valley Convallaria majalis.
