Portstewart's Red Sails Festival celebrates 10 years this summer

THIS year is the tenth anniversary of the Portstewart Red Sails festival.

The event will run from July 25 to July 31.

Portstewart Community Association in conjunction with Coleraine Borough Council and D.C.A.L. have put together an exciting week of events.

The line up includes a number of talented young bands, the Banshee Irish Dancers, Rio Salsa Dancers and Portrush Music Society’s Choral Group.

‘Kintra’, the Ulster Scots Folk Orchestra and ‘Comhcheol’ will provide a traditional element to the festival.

Whilst ‘Magwere’ will give a multicultural flavour, with a performance of Afro-Caribbean music.

Other highlights include Bourbon Swing Dixieland jazz band, a Meatloaf Tribute Band, a piano performance by John Trotter at Flowerfield Arts Centre and popular local acts the Jungle V.I.P.S and Wig Wam Glam.

* Portstewart Community Association will be holding their AGM on Wednesday, June 9.

The meeting will take place in Portstewart Town Hall, a volunteers meeting for anyone wishing to help during the festival week will take place after the AGM.
