Portrush meeting to hear update on Ashers cake case

The Christian Institute is to hold a meeting in Portrush at which audience members will receive an update on the Ashers bakery case.

The 25 year anniversary event is being held at the Magherabuoy House Hotel on Monday, November 28 at 8pm.

Speakers will be Adrian Smith and Hazelmary Bull.

Adrian was a housing manager in Manchester. When he said that same-sex weddings in churches would be “an equality too far” he was demoted and had his salary slashed by 40%. The High Court later ruled in his favour.

Hazelmary Bull ran a B&B with her late husband and was ordered to pay £3,600 to two men in a civil partnership after refusing to provide them with a double bed. The case was appealed at the UK Supreme Court.

The meeting will also be given the latest update on the Ashers bakery case.
