Planning revamp could be on way

The way planning applications are processed at the Causeway Coast and Glens council could be set for a revamp.

Councillors discussed amending the way planning applications are processed at a planning committee meeting in Coleraine on Wednesday (June 24).

Northern Ireland’s 11 new ‘super councils’ took over responsibility for planning in April this year as part of a raft of new powers granted by the recent council shake-up.

Councillors debated the need for the existing planning protocols to be changed at the meeting on Wednesday and agreed to take part in a workshop before deciding on any necessary changes at the next planning committee meeting.
