The application, put forward by an agent on behalf of David Patton & Sons (NI) Ltd, which went into administration in 2012, could see a mixed 58-unit residential development incorporating semi-detached houses, townhouses and apartments built at the site near Whitehouse Park.

Local Alliance Party Councillor Billy Webb welcomed the latest plan for the vacant land adjacent to the railway line, describing it as “an improvement” on the high rise blocks of apartments originally proposed for the site.
