Agencies bid to remind students of railway safety
Commenting on social media, a spokesperson for the controlled, non-selective post primary school said: “Translink, Community Police Service of Northern Ireland officers and the school will be working together over the next few weeks to remind pupils about safety around railway tracks at Downshire Halt.
“Translink and school staff will be speaking to pupils in school and both will be in attendance at the halt over the next few weeks.

Hide Ad“Pupils will be reminded about safety regarding use of the train, particularly with respect to the danger of the railway tracks and accessing these.”
The east Antrim school spokesperson added: “CCTV is in operation and all incidents of individuals on tracks will be forwarded to the PSNI.
“We would ask for parental support in reminding our young people how to keep themselves safe when waiting for and travelling on trains.”
