Outstanding Dalriada GCSE students

Dalriada Year 12 students are celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results.

99% of the pupils gained five or more A*- C grades. Indeed 96% of the pupils gained seven or more A*- C grades including Maths and English.

43 pupils, over a third of the entire year group achieved 8 or more A* or A full course grades and of this group 30 pupils gained 9 A* or A grades each.

Naomi Anderson and Tara Devers will start their courses having achieved a magnificent 10 A*s, while Rachael Kennedy has achieved an outstanding 9 A*s.

In addition the following have achieved a magnificent 10 A*-A grades: Bethan Harper, Bronwyn Thompson, Victoria Whitton, Megan Barr, Ailbhe Kendall, Victoria Paice, Sam Balmer, William McMullan, Alice Peden, Ellie Maddox, Lily Murdoch, Rachel Taggart, Lucy Buick, Cait Kirkpatrick, Holly McIlveen and Gage McAlister.

The following pupils obtained 9 A*-A full course grades: Gillian McNaugher, Eva Carson, Olivia Cameron, Gavin McCaughern, Andreas Karmiotis, Katie Marshall, Harriet Moore, Claire Finnerty, Claudia Byers, Christopher Fielding, Aaron Eymere.

Achieving 8 A* A full course grades were Matthew Lockhart, John Hope, Ruth Taggart, Honor Wilson, Kate Barton, Caitlin Farrell, Zoe Nevin, Eve Niblock, Charlotte Warke, Harriet Gaston, Peter Goligher, Suzi Hardaway and Aaron Christie.

Of last years cohort of year 12 pupils, 113 of them now progress to the Sixth Form of Dalriada, where they will be joined by 16 students from schools in Ballymoney, Bushmills, Coleraine and Portstewart

Headmaster Mr Tom Skelton commented: “We are delighted with these excellent GCSE results and pleased that such a large group of students are progressing into our Sixth Form. We wish students who are leaving us well and we are delighted to welcome 16 external students who also have impressive GCSE results. We now have 128 students in Lower Sixth and 125 in Upper Sixth making it the largest Sixth Form in the history of the school. Our total school enrolment now stands at 883 pupils, a reflection of the quality of education offered at Dalriada”.
