Ulidia Integrated College welcomed renowned journalist John-Paul Flintoff, who travelled from London to visit the school.

Mr Flintoff told year 10 English pupils of the numerous things he has written about “in an attempt to give them the idea that there is more than just one perspective for everything you do and see in life”.

A statement from the school added: “Mr Flintoff’s most successful published book is called ‘How to Change the World’, so he is an optimist to say the least, this was reflected in how he connected with the junior pupils immediately.

“The main thing that Mr Flintoff kept emphasising to everyone was how everything in life is your choice. No one can make you do anything, no matter how big or how small.”
