Dismayed by amount of roadworks

I wonder how many more of your readers are, like myself, dismayed at the amount of road works that are going on in Lisburn.

I am not surprised that no one is coming in to the town centre, i say town as that is all it is as a city is somewhere there is life, entertainment and things to do and this does not describe Lisburn. I think whoever gets paid for promoting this should be made redundant,

But back to the road works. Let me list them for people who are not aware , maybe our local representatives are not even aware of them - North Circular Road closed for over four weeks, Old Ballynahinch Road still closed, Hillhall Road closed, Wallace Avenue, Seymour Street and Queens Road - temporary lights, Saintfield Road from Mercer Street closed for four days and Moira Road - temporary lights over four weeks.

I have seen people just turning their cars and going back to whereever they came from.

But for the fact I live here I would do the same.

So why is this all allowed to happen at one time, and could the answer to the the question of why no one shops in Lisburn be that it’s the city with lights not life.
