NFU Larne gathering goods for Gambia

The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust is desperately seeking emergency supplies to care for the animals it helps look after and is calling for people to donate items such as bandages, dressings, head collars and girths.

William Cross, an agent at NFU Mutual in Larne said: “We understand that horses and donkeys are part of the fabric of rural life and it is important to us to be able to assist with equine rehabilitation and welfare. All donations will be gratefully received, no matter how big or small.”

Many working horses and donkeys in Gambia suffer as a result of improper care, poor nutrition and poor management due to a combination of poverty, neglect and lack of knowledge
