New traffic lights welcomed
New traffic lights and a pedestrian crossing at the junction of Kiln lane and Silverwood Road has been welcomed.
Deputy Mayor of Craigavon Catherine Seeley said: “This is a very busy junction with commuters travelling to and from the motorway and commercial vehicles travelling to the Silverwood industrial area. You also have school traffic travelling to and from two local schools. All this traffic led to lengthy delays at peak times especially for traffic exiting from Kiln lane.”
She added: “The junction is also on the route of a popular walking circuit. The added safety of a controlled pedestrian crossing will greatly improve the route for walkers and indeed cyclysts.
“The replacement of new street lighting in the area will also be welcomed and add to the safety of both pedestrians and motorists.”
