New hotel will create 40 jobs

...with the one of the country’s most popular attractions, The Dark Hedges.

“We see this as an opportunity to create a facility that will complement what the Hedges has to offer.

“We also have been in discussions with the Hedges Preservation Trust and other interested parties to provide an area for tourists to park their cars close to the trees so that vehicles do not interfere with pictures,” a spokesperson for the Hedges said.

An interpretative centre will also be created to provide information on the Hedges.

When complete, the hotel and restaurant will have three major function room areas with the emphasis firmly placed on comfort and a relaxed atmosphere.

“We plan to cater for all tastes and entertainment and functions will form a major part of our promotional strategy. There is no point in doing things half measure. We intend to run a business with a reputation for efficiency, good food and surroundings that will appeal to all,” the Times was told.

The spokesperson added that up to 40 jobs, both full and part-time, would be created.
