New childcare facility brings boost to the Gilford area

This new venture has been opened by local girl Cathy Davidson and is set to look after and care for children aged 0–12.

Mr Simpson said, “I was honoured to be asked to attend and be involved in the official opening of Smart Kids child care facility in Gilford town centre. I have known the proprietor Mrs Cathy Harris for many years and I have no doubt that this new venture will be a huge success.

“Cathy I believe has the drive, passion and determination to make this business work and I certainly would wish her well for the future. I have been assisting Cathy with her venture and look forward to working with her over the coming months to help achieve additional PEAG places from the SLEB.”

Mr Simpson pointed out that childcare and nursery provision remain pressing issues across the Province.

He said Smart Kids will address the needs in Gilford: “Childcare and nursery provision is always a hot topic within Northern Ireland with a lack of places available year on year. mart Kids will address the needs in the Gilford area and will provide families with an alternative, reliable facility.

“I would wish Cathy and the entire team well with the new venture as they seek to attend to the educational needs and requirements of the local children.

“Gilford in recent months has been a hive of activity with several new businesses having opened.”
