A Ballymoney mother is urging people to step up for the Cancer Fund for Children’s Winter Woolly Walk.
The fun, family event, which will help raise funds for the leading charity that supports children with cancer and their families, will take place on February 28th at locations including The Lagan Towpath in Belfast, Antrim Castle Gardens and St Columb’s Park in Derry/L’Derry.
Yvonne Monaghan explained how the charity offered support after her daughter Lauren was diagnosed with cancer.
“Cancer Fund for Children invited my daughter and I to their coffee morning at Agnes House. We were feeling quite isolated since my daughter was diagnosed and it was a lovely opportunity to meet local families in a relaxed atmosphere to have a chat, and share our experiences with other families who completely understood what we were going through.
“The friendly staff listened to our worries and concerns. They provided emotional and financial support which we appreciated at this difficult time. We really look forward to going to coffee mornings. We have met some lovely families and made some great friends,” the Ballymoney woman said.
