The scheme for Garron Road in Glenariff had been deferred by members of Moyle District Council to discuss the matter further.
However a Planning representative attended a recent meeting and advised the councillors that the opinion was still to refuse the application as it was not qa suitable building to convert to residential use.
Another application for a house and garage on a farm in Cushendall was also refused by Planners.
The reasons given were that it had not been demonstarted that the farm was an active business and that it was not an exceptional case.
