Max (7) loses battle with cancer

Mass of the Angels is to be held this morning (Thursday) for seven-year-old Max, who so bravely fought a two year battle against cancer.

The son of Eamonn and Sinead Moore, Max was the only boy of triplets, and is also mourned by his sisters Emily and Aimee.

A pupil at John the Baptist Primary School in Portadown, Max was found to have an aggressive, fast-growing tumour in 2013.

He had numerous operations and received radiation treatment to keep the tumour at bay.

Max also had chemotherapy last year so he could live to see Christmas.

Through the help and support of many people in the area, he achieved many of his dreams. Max’s father described how the PSNI took them up in a helicopter, something the seven-year-old had always wanted to do.

This was one of many dreams Max achieved in his short life with the help of his many friends, family and community.

Eamonn said he doesn’t know where to start as there are so many people to thank for helping Max through his journey over the past couple of years.

He said, “We would like to thank the people of Portadown and Craigavon for all their help and support and prayers during this time and who helped Max with his journey.”

Max’s funeral is this morning at 10.15am from his home at Derrylard Rd, Portadown, to the Church of St John The Baptist, Drumcree for Mass of the Angels at 11am.

His passing is also deeply regretted by his grandparents Louis and Eilish, his aunts, uncles, cousins and family circle.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Charlie and Anna-Rose (McCrory).
