Make a splash this New Year’s Day for CLIC

There’s no better way to banish away the New Year’s Day cobwebs than a quick dip in the Atlantic Ocean!

Cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is calling for local people to brave the elements and sign up for a sponsored dip at the East Strand in Portrush to raise money for children and young people with cancer.

Taking place at 3pm on January 1 - the question is are you brave enough?

All participants can warm up with cup of something special after their dip courtesy of Ground coffee shops. Fancy dress is optional. Participants are asked to pay a registration fee of £10 and should aim to raise as much as they can.

Michelle Carolan, Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent said; “Each week in Northern Ireland two children or young people are diagnosed with cancer.

“On average a family in Northern Ireland will make a round trip of up to 95 miles, up to five times a week so that they can access the cancer treatment that their child needs. That is why we are raising money to build two homes from home close to the main Belfast treatment Centres. Whether you’ll be braving the dip yourself, or coming to support a ‘dipper’ we would love to see you there!”

The Dip has been kindly sponsored by Andy Hill, proprietor Troggs Surf shop,
