Local Libraries marks International Women's Day
LIBRARIES NI is hosting a photographic exhibition, entitled "Home Places - A portrait of ten women who have come from other parts of the world to make their home in Northern Ireland" in a number of libraries throughout Northern Ireland.
This IWD exhibition is on display in Coleraine Library until Saturday, May 22 and will be on display in Portrush Library from Monday, May 31 until Saturday, June 12.
This photographic exhibition was commissioned by the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland to mark International Women’s Day, which is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.
The project was undertaken by South African photographer Skye Bompas and aims to challenge stereotypes by showing the common life experiences that unite women, whatever their background.
