Cushendall-based potato supplier Glens of Antrim Potatoes has signed on as the sponsor for UTV and UTV Ireland’s ‘Lesser Spotted Journeys’ programme, the new all-Ireland version of the fan favourite ‘Lesser Spotted Ulster’.
Premiering at 8pm Tuesday 15th September, the new series of ‘Lesser Spotted Journeys’ will feature presenter Joe Mahon exploring hidden gems and stories across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The programme will be simulcast on both UTV and UTV Ireland.
Michael McKillop, Glens of Antrim Potatoes, said he is delighted to be sponsoring the programme for the seventh year, especially for its first series focusing on all Ireland: “Our sponsorship with ‘Lesser Spotted Journeys’ is the perfect fit for our brand and our history.
“As a family-owned company based in Northern Ireland’s beautiful Glens of Antrim, we are delighted to be supporting a show that showcases the best Ireland has to offer.
“We recently invested £1.25m in new facilities and equipment, so just as ‘Lesser Spotted Journeys’ is expanding, we are, too. Our potatoes continue to be successful in the UK and Ireland, but we are hoping our sponsorship of ‘Lesser Spotted Journeys’ helps us reach even more spud lovers across Ireland.”
Trevor Jordan, Sales Director, UTV Television, added:
“We are delighted to have Glens of Antrim Potatoes as the all-Ireland sponsor of ‘Lesser Spotted Journeys’. ‘Lesser Spotted’ is one of our longstanding flagship programmes which has been broadcasting for over 20 years.”
