If you haven’t booked your tickets yet for Our Lady of Lourdes’ Spring production ‘Annie’ then you better hurry!
Everyone’s favourite orphan ‘Annie’ returns to Our Lady of Lourdes School this spring, on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 March.
Year 8, Ellen Kearns, takes the lead as the adventurous Annie who finds herself in the care of Mr Warbucks and Grace.
Ellen has loved the challenge, saying, “I was delighted to get picked to play Annie and I love being part of the show.
“The scenes when I get to dance and sing with the rest of the orphans are some of my favourite.”
The cast and crew have been working tirelessly, under the direction of Mrs Máire Buckley and Mr Neil McMaster, to ensure an entertaining experience is had by all.
In the depths of the 1930s, Annie is a fiery young orphan girl who must live in a miserable orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan.
Her seemingly hopeless situation changes dramatically when she is selected to spend a short time at the residence of the wealthy munitions industrialist, Oliver Warbucks.
Quickly, she charms the hearts of the household staff and even the seemingly cold-hearted Warbucks cannot help but learn to love this wonderful girl.
He decides to help Annie find her long lost parents by offering a reward if they would come to him and prove their identity.
However, Miss Hannigan, her evil brother, Rooster, and a female accomplice, plan to impersonate those people to get the reward for themselves which put Annie in great danger.
With breath-taking choreography and toe-tapping songs such as “Hard Knock Life! “or “I think I’m gonna like there!”, this promises to be a highly enjoyable production.
By the sounds of it “You can bet your bottom dollar” it will be an entertaining night.
Tickets are available from the school from Wednesday 18 March at the cost of £6 adult, £4 concession and must be paid for on the day of purchase.
