Crumbs...a Ballymoney lady has won her height in tea and biscuits, thanks to a competition run by Age NI.
Lillian McCullough, Scheme Coordinator at Cramsie Court, Ballymoney entered the online weekly draw which offered the winner free tea bags and Jaffa Cakes or Digestives.
Speaking to the Times, Lillian, who has been working as Scheme Co-ordinator at Clanmil Housing Association’s Cramsie Court housing scheme for older people in Ballymoney for over 10 years, said it took time for her to ‘digestive’ the news.
She continued: “I just saw the competition online to win your height in tea and biscuits. I thought ‘why not enter’. I filled in my name and address and forwarded the application and I never thought anything about it again.
“However last week I got an email back to say that I had been selected as one of the luckily weekly winners and I had to send them details about my height and which biscuits I preferred, Jaffa Cakes or Digestives. I chose Jaffa Cakes as they’re my favourites.”
And this week, Lillian, who lives in Portrush, received eight boxes of Jaffa Cakes and a packet of Punjana Tea Bags.
“The only unfortunate thing is...” Lillian joked. “I’m quite small, only 5ft 1in, it would have been even better if I’d have been 6ft 8in.
“However eight packets, end to end is my height and I’m extremely thankful - I will share them with staff and residents at Cramsie Court. We’ve always lots going on for my residents and we love to get together for a cup of tea, so and I’m sure we will thoroughly enjoy them.”
