Light relief

LAST week the ‘MAIL’ reported on a lighting row that had escalated at Greenhill Park.

Residents were adamant that Road Service should provide lighting similar to that which was already in place and not make the changes which had been planned placing poles outside people’s homes and removing lighting from particularly dark areas.

Councillor Lockhart, who has been working on behalf of residents, said: “I am delighted common sense has prevailed with Road Service street lighting section and the concerns of residents have been taken on board and addressed and the best possible outcome has been achieved.

“The Residents living in the Greenhill park area deserved to have their say and I would encourage Road Service to consult with residents in future to try and avoid such situations happening again”.

“This is the last phase of new lighting in the Mourneview area and I trust Road Service will continue to give this area the much needed attention it deserves.”
