Lifford death seventh in ten days on North West roads

A 34-year-old man from Belfast has died following a fatal road traffic collision outside Lifford on Thursday, August 4.

The man was killed after the car in which he was travelling collided with lorry between Raphoe and Rossgier on Thursday afternoon.

He died after being rushed to hospital in Letterkenny.

It brings the number of fatalities on the roads in the North West in just over the space of a week to seven.

On Wednesday, July 27, Barney McGinley and Dermot Boyle, were killed in a head-on collision with a van on the main Letterkenny to Londonderry Road, near Trimragh. Less than a day later Kaylem Murphy, Teresa Marie Robinson and Stephen McCafferty were killed in a collision near Drumkeen. And this week Wilson Sherrard lost his life on the main Londonderry to Belfast road near Claudy.
