LGBT seminar at '˜The Playhouse'

The Rainbow Project Diversity Champions to host a Workplace Identity and Diversity seminar in Londonderry, alongside Allstate Northern Ireland and the Londonderry Chamber of Commerce. Aimed at local businesses, the seminar will take place at the Playhouse on Friday, October 14 from 11-12.45pm

Recent research indicates that 34% of employees in the North West are not out to anyone in their workplace and 39% of employees have heard negative comments about LGB&/T people in their workplace.

The Rainbow Project Diversity Champions programme aims to engage businesses in the critical work of increasing LGB&/T visibility at work and tackling isolation, whilst highlighting the concrete business case for diversity and inclusion.

Keynote speakers include Ciaran Moore, Diversity and Inclusion Lead from Lloyds Banking Group in Belfast, who will discuss the steps Lloyds have taken to change and build diverse culture, and inspire internal and external pride for LGB&/T staff and their colleagues/ families.

Gavin Boyd, Policy and Advocacy Manager from The Rainbow Project says ‘We look forward to welcoming a diverse group of businesses to the event and we look forward to supporting them in making diversity and inclusion key values of their workplace.’
