Leisureplex plans are revealed

Major £3.5m refurbishment plans have been revealed for the Lagan Valley Leisureplex.

The pirate galleon ship will be replaced by a unique water soft play area that will increase usage with longer opening hours.

There will be dedicated rooms for fitness and exercise classes to include a new Spin Studio.

Changing provision will be enhanced. Gym, Fitness Suite and Spa area will be developed providing Hotel standard facilities. Reception areas will also be upgraded.

The Chairman of the Leisure Services Committee Alderman Paul Porter said: “We carried out a review of our current product offer at Lagan Valley LeisurePlex and following feedback from customers considered what enhancements would increase the enjoyment of users plus attract new customers.

Work will begin early in the summer and will be completed on a phased basis. The Leisure Services Department is currently finalising the schedule for the refurbishment works following which customers will be given access to plans.”
