Last chance to enter the five mile Milk Run Road Race

Last chance for all runners and fun runners to enter the Ballyrashane 5 Mile Road Race and Fun Run at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre on Friday 25th July.

Organizers, Ballymoney Sports Development Unit in partnership with Springwell Running Club are indebted to Ballyrashane Creameries who are sponsoring this event for the first time.

The 5 mile road race begins at 7.30pm with 20 individual categories incorporated into the main race this year.

“This year promises to be another great event with categories for everyone and prizes the whole way down the field”, commented Sports Manager, John Fall.

The full list of categories are: open male and female, veterans section for males over 35, 40, 45, 55 60 & 65, veterans sections for females for over 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, junior race 15+ for male and female, wheelchair race.

The race has attracted great numbers with 170 finishers in 2013 and this year should be no different.

Prior to the main event, the children’s fun run will take place at 6.15pm at the JDLC. The race will take place in the grounds of the centre and is open to anyone aged 8-11 & 12-14. Please note that entry costs £3 per child and NO entries will be accepted without a consent form.

“This is the 10th year of the children’s event and we would encourage all children to come along. Every child will receive a medal,” commented John Fall.

Kenny Bacon of Springwell Running Club also commented: “I am delighted to continue our excellent partnership with Ballymoney Borough Council’s Sports Development Unit. A special prize is on offer for anyone beating any of the current course records….”

The evening kicks off from 6pm. The Mayor, Alderman Kennedy will start the race at 7.30pm from the Garryduff Road. The first finishers will be expected back inside 25 minutes to have a chance at the course record. Spectators will be entertained by local Knight Walkers Entertainment during this time.

Riada Road Race Entry fee: £10 for registered club members on the evening, £11 for non registered runners on the evening. £12/£13 Late Entry Fee. Fun Run £3.
