Khat ban to takeeffect next month
The consumption of the plant, Khat, a stimulant used by some members of the United Kingdom Somali and Yemeni communities is to be listed under misuse of drugs legislation in Northern Ireland from November 11.
New statutory rules by the Department of Health will take effect here after Khat was criminalised as a class C drug by the UK government in June.
