Huge facelift for Molloy’s old pub

Plans for the premises known locally as Molloys pub were brought to a meeting of the Council last night and include a replacement filling station and ancillary shop, a two-storey replacement building including a ground floor public house with off licence.

Provision has also been made for a licensed restaurant and ten first floor guest bedrooms with car parking and landscaping.

The development proposal will remove something of an eyesore and given that the road is in line for dualling, it will vastly enhance the facilities along one of the busiest routes in the province.

The development follows weeks after another major project was announced at Logan’s Fashions where a filling station, hot food outlet and a supermarket were also approved by planners adding to an already vibrant business complex.

The applicants for Molloys pub and surrounding area are Reid Properties and Ballymoney Councillor, Alderman Bill Kennedy, says the project is an exciting one.

He told the Times: “When we consider that the road is to be dualled, the two filling stations along with a third near
