Details of the modular unit, which will be situated on lands between Prince Andrew Way and Castlemara Drive, were outlined to members of Carrickfergus Borough Council at their monthly meeting last Monday night.

Contractors, appointed through funding from the Peace III programme BRIC (Building Relationships in Communities) started work on the site at the beginning of July, with foundations having already been completed.

Welcoming the plans, Alderman Jim Brown said: “I would hope that the residents of Castlemara would be able to enjoy this facility very soon.
