Gracehill Open Day

GRACEHILL, the first site in Northern Ireland to be designated a Conservation Area, is an historic village with a rich history and many listed buildings.

Once again, a village “open day” has been organised to coincide with one of the European Heritage Days.

It is being held on Saturday, September 8 and this year the theme will be Education.

Living history presentations will depict life in Gracehill in 1812 as described in the diaries of the time.

The open day will run from 12.30pm to 5pm and include:

•Living History Presentation in the Old School

(Presentations by Northern Period Productions will take place at 1 pm,

2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm)

•Tours of former Single Brethren Home (now a private residence not normally open to the public)

•Opportunity to view recent restoration of the Moravian Church

•Guided tours of the Village throughout afternoon – from the church.

•“Country Markets” group (crafts and home baking and teas)

Childrens Art Workshop for Ages 9-12 years 10.30am -12 md in the Old School.
