Gerry’s funeral to take place this Saturday

The funeral of the local man who tragically died on a building site in Perth, Australia will take place this Saturday.

Last Wednesday news that Ringsend man Gerard Bradley (29) had been killed alongside his pal, Joe McDermott from Omagh, left the Coleraine area in deep mourning.

In a statement today (Thursday), Gerry’s brother, Gregory, said that the funeral will take place from the family home, 105 Kinnyglass Road, BT51 4NR, on Saturday at 11am for 12 Noon Requiem Mass in St. Malachy’s Church, Coleraine.

He said: “On behalf of the Bradley Family, we wanted to thank everyone who has sent messages of support and visited us in an extremely tough week. Gerard will be back in Ireland this afternoon (Thursday 3rd December).

“The wake for Gerard will begin on Thursday from 8pm, all day Friday 4th and on the the morning of Saturday 5th December. T

he funeral will take place at 12pm on Saturday at St. Malachy’s Coleraine.

The burial will take place at Coleraine Cemetery on the Portrush Road followed by a celebration of Gerard’s life at Portstewart Golf Club.

“When attending the wake we would ask for people to park in the car park located close to our house. Here there will be shuttle buses available to transport everyone to our house. The address for the car park is 149 Cashel Road, BT51 4HW but there will be signs and stewards on the roads to help direct you.”

Gregory went on: “On Wednesday 9th of December there will be a fundraising at the Gin Bar in the Harbour Bar, Portrush.

“There will be a range of prizes to buy raffle tickets for.

“All proceeds will be shared between two great charities in The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and The Claddagh Association who have provided immense support to date. We hope to set up a just giving page soon but you can find out more about both charities in the below links:
