Ballymoney Methodist Church is hosting a Fun Day and Charity Auction on Saturday 16 June in the Church Hall.
The aim of the event is to raise much-needed funds for local charities, CAN (Compass Advocacy Network), working with people with learning disabilities in the local area, Cheers Youth Centre and Wave Trauma which offers care and support to people bereaved, injured or traumatised as a result of ‘The Troubles’ in Northern Ireland.
Linda McKendry, Manager of CAN said “We were delighted to be approached by the Methodist Church to support us and other worthwhile charities in the town. All proceeds from the auction will be divided equally amongst the groups and support local people.”
Rev Greg Alexander from the Methodist Church said: “Local business man, Gerry McAfee of McAfee Auctions has kindly donated his support for the event and will be auctioneer on the day. On the day, there will be a BBQ, Face Painting, Penalty Shoot Out, Cake and Book Stalls. We are delighted to be supporting local charities on what promises to be a lovely even.”
If you would like to support the church and these local charities in this event and would like to get involved or have any items (books, cakes, toys, good pieces of furniture) which you would like to donate for sale, please contact either the Methodist Church or CAN on the numbers below.
