Education Minister visits Glynn Primary School
Mr Weir met teachers and pupils and participated in a question and answer session, as well as taking a tour of the school.
The Minister said that he had been “very impressed with the level of dedication shown by teachers to their pupils and the enthusiasm and desire from schoolchildren to learn and develop.”

Hide Ad“Education is about the development of our children’s personalities, talents and abilities to their fullest potential,” he said.
“This can only be achieved by everyone working together across to ensure the best outcomes for our children and young people.
“I want to deliver a first class education system that delivers for all our children but I do not underestimate the challenges that lie ahead.
“The Executive is facing very challenging financial pressures which will impact on school budgets.

Hide Ad“My priority is to ensure funding is targeted at helping and supporting our children and young people and I will work with my Department, the Education Authority and schools to make sure this happens.”
Principal of Glynn Primary School Mrs Diane Hawthorne said that the whole school had been “delighted” to welcome Mr Weir and to have the opportunity to showcase its facilities and ethos.
