Popular Dutch Blogger and ‘Instagramer’, Eelco Roos, visited Northern Ireland this week, as a guest of Tourism Ireland.
He was here to capture lots of great photos and share them on Instagram and Twitter, to highlight some of the many great things to see and do here to prospective holidaymakers in the Netherlands. Eelco will also share his visit through a blog posted on Dutch airline, KLM’s online account.
Armed with his smartphone, and following an itinerary designed by Tourism Northern Ireland, Eelco enjoyed a visit to County Down where he stopped at Spelga Dam, Silent Valley, Annalong and Newcastle, before heading to Belfast. The next day Eelco enjoyed travelling along the Causeway Coastal route with stops at Glenarm, Glenariff and Cushendun. Further along the Causeway Coastal Route he photographed some of the spectacular scenery and attractions on offer including the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, the Giant’s Causeway and Mussenden Temple.
Karen van der Horst, Tourism Ireland’s manager in the Netherlands, said: “With over 340,000 followers, Eelco Roos is the most popular ‘Instagramer’ in the Netherlands and we are delighted he agreed to spend time in Northern Ireland capturing photos and sharing what a great place it is to visit. In addition, his blog on KLM online will be seen by 9.1 million people in the Netherlands, highlighting Northern Ireland as a wonderful holiday destination. Tourism Ireland communicates with over 127, 800 people – or potential holidaymakers – each day in the Netherlands, through Facebook and Twitter, to inspire them to come and visit.”
