Deaths in the community

The death has taken place of Winnie Conlon, formerly of Laurenctown and lately of Riversley Fold.

Winnie, who was a resident at Aughnacloy House, was the daughter of the late Ellen and Henry Conlon and sister of Eileen, Margaret and the late Paddy.

Her funeral was on Monday at St Colman’s Church, Laurencetown with burial after in the adjoining cemetery.

Mary McGurk

The death has taken place of Mary McGurk (nee Quinn) of Lismara, Craigavon and formerly of Moveagh, Cookstown.

Mrs McGurk died peacefully at St John’s Hospice in Newry.

She was married to the late Peter McGurk and mother to Colm, Philip, Una, James, Liam, Declan, Anne-Marie and the late Kieran and Damien.

Her funeral was from her late residence at Lismara, Craigavon on Saturday to St Anthony’s Church, Moyraverty, Craigavon with interment afterwards at Forthill Cemetery Cookstown.

Irene Sloan

The death has taken place of Irene Sloan from Woodford Park, Lurgan.

She was the wife of the late Ivan Sloan and mother to Ian, Andrew and Jill.

Her funeral was on Saturday from her home to St John’s Parish Church, Sloan Street followed by interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Mr James Downey

The death has taken place of Mr James Downey, Stevenson Park, Lurgan. He died in Craigavon Area Hospital on April 2. His funeral was on April 5 from his daughter’s home to Shankill Parish Church with interment at Lurgan Cemetery.

The husband of the late Ann, Mr Downey is survived by his daughters Jennifer and Gillian, their husbands and four grandchildren and their spouses and ten great grandchildren.

William Samuel George Wilson

The death has taken place of William Samuel George Wilson, wife of Joan and father of Dorothy.

His funeral was from his home in Margretta Park, Lurgan on Wednesday (April 18) for service in Boveva Presbyterian Church, Dungiven with interment at the adjoining burial ground.

Rita Rollins (nee Lavery)

The death has taken place of Rita Rollins suddenly at her home in Wales.

Mrs Rollins, originally from Aghagallon was the wife of Bill Rollins and mother of Alan and Caroline, mother-in-law of Debbie and Dafyd and grandmother of Joshua and Dylan.

She was the daughter of the late Dermot and Ursula Lavery of Derrymore Road, Aghagallon and sister of Sheila, Pearse, Eileen and Dermot.

Her funeral was on Wednesday April 18 from Derrymore Road, Aghagallon to St Patrick’s Church, Aghagallon.
