“Community spirit and togetherness within the Lisburn area are very important and I hope to achieve these with this tea dance.

“Residential and care homes, local community groups, couples and individuals who wish to meet up with others are encouraged to attend. “We will be delighted to meet and greet the Fred Astaires and Ginger Rogers of this world; and those with slightly less rhythm, like most of us, are very welcome to take to the floor as well.

“A couple from local dance group Dance Amore will be present to demonstrate a few traditional and modern dances.

“I am delighted that the Active Ageing Lisburn initiative from within the Trust is supporting this event in terms of promotion and the provision of transport for those residents within care homes across the Lisburn area.

“Active Ageing Lisburn encourages our elderly citizens to keep active; and what better way than to dance the afternoon away with music provided by Norman Houston.

“I would like to thank both Housty and the Trust for their support at this festive event to engage with our more senior residents.”

Admission to the Christmas Tea Dance is free.
