McCann, who lives with his mother and father, returned home heavily intoxicated. He banged at a window and kicked at a door. One of the locks in the front door had been broken in the door frame.

Mr Conor Downey, representing McCann, said the defendant’s mother and father had since put into place their own regime to curtail his behaviour.

He added that the damage had been repaired but McCann was in breach of a suspended sentence although it was for a different matter.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, adjourned sentencing until February 19 so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.
