The Bar Mock Team from Dalriada School in Ballymoney competed in the regional heat of the Bar National Mock Trial Competition, held at the Royal Courts of Justice in Belfast, at the end of November.
They won all three of their rounds, facing strong teams from Foyle College, Grosvenor Grammar School and Methodist College and subsequently secured a place in the final.
The pupils competed against Coleraine Grammar School in the regional final and won the coveted title of ‘Northern Ireland Champions’ for the third time.
Dalriada’s Bar Mock Team has had a great deal of success in recent years.
They have won the regional competition three times, represented Northern Ireland at the National Final on three occasions and remain the only Northern Irish team to have competed at the World Championships, in 2011 and 2012.
The team will soon begin preparations for the National Final which will take place on Saturday 23rd April at The Old Bailey in London.
The pupils are delighted with their achievement last Saturday and are keen to do their country proud at the National Final.
