Over four nights in October, Cross and Passion College assembly hall was turned into Wonderland and audiences were enchanted by the acting and singing of the pupils in the 50 strong cast.
The show was expertly produced and directed by Mrs C. Hughes and Ms S. Mullin.
They received huge support from the production support team in terms of the music, set design, choreography, make up and many other aspects which all contributed to the high standard of the show.
The lead roles were performed by Aoife Hand (Alice), Jordan Connor (The Queen), Oliver Bayles (The King), Íde Hughes (The White Rabbit), Lucy McCaughan (The Caterpillar), Eoin Crawford (The Gryphon), Elena Morton (The Dormouse), Gracie Cunningham (The Cheshire Cat), Ada McCarry (The Mock Turtle) Grace Elliot (The March Hare) and Peter Gorringe (The Mad Hatter).
The staff involved worked tirelessly with the large cast to create a sense of focus, team spirit and hard work, whilst at the same time fostering a fun and enjoyable atmosphere amongst the cast and crew. Director, Mrs Hughes, explained, “Once again, directing a CPC production has been a fantastic experience. Our fabulous cast of 50 exceptional young people are a real testament to the calibre of pupils at our school. The hours have been long, but they have been made almost stress free because of the cast who listened to, applied and sometimes adapted my direction!”
Musical Director, Ms Mullin, commented, “Working with such an exceptional group of students has been an amazing experience; from their hard working in the Summer months to their lovely sense of fun and team spirit during the rehearsals. The show has been a pleasure to be part of.”
Principal Paul McClean thanked all involved for allowing the young people such an opportunity. “There are so many people who have supported our students in so many ways and helped ensure that they will treasure these memories for many years. Thank you to the staff who worked tirelessly for many months and a huge thank you to the wider school community and local businesses who supported us unwaveringly, by funding and attending this wonderful production.”
