A teenager pleaded guilty to a charge of causing grievous bodily harm to a female when he appeared remotely at Magherafelt Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Eighteen-year-old Caolan Boreland from Moneygran Road, Kilrea, is said to have committed the offence on January 24 this year.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan adjourned the case until November 4 for a pre-sentence report.

Defence lawyer Liam McStay said they also required the time to get a report in relation to counselling.
