A man has been charged following an arson attack at a property in Coleraine on Saturday, February 18.
Detectives investigating the incident at a flat in the Weaver’s Court area have charged a 22-year-old man with arson endangering life. He is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 13. As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS.
Detailing the incident, Detective Sergeant Wallace said: “Shortly after 6am on Saturday morning a neighbour, having been disturbed by voices and a car driving away from Weaver’s Court, discovered a fire at the letterbox of a neighbouring flat and extinguished the flames. Damage was caused to the door, however, there were no reports of any injuries.”
It is understood two other men aged 22 and 24 arrested in connection with this incident have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
