Five arrests by PSNI probing murders of two local workmen
Gary Convie, 24, and 44-year-old Eamon Fox were sitting in their car at a building site in North Queen Street in Belfast on 17 May 1994 when a gunman opened fire with a submachine gun from a nearby children’s playpark.
Officers from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch detained a man aged 48 in north Belfast and woman aged 41 in Antrim on Wednesday. They are being questioned in Antrim.

Hide AdOn Tuesday three men aged 43, 52 and 65, who were arrested in Templepatrick, Newtownabbey and Antrim, remain in police custody.
The arrests were made as part of Operation Stafford, an investigation into murders and serious crimes by the Mount Vernon UVF in north Belfast.
One man has been previously convicted of the killings. In January, a second man Mark Campbell (42) of Canning Place, Belfast was charged with the murders and is currently on bail awaiting trial.
