Recently a group of young people from the Ballymoney Borough travelled to Krakow, Poland as part of a Cross Community educational visit.
The group from Rasharkin Community Youth Club and Cheers Youth Centre Ballymoney spent four nights in Krakow during which time they visited Schindler’s Factory, the Jewish Quarter, the Salt Mines and enjoyed an evening with a group of young people from the Krakow area.
They also visited the Auschwitz and Birkenau Concentration Camps which was a very moving and emotional experience for all involved. As part of their visit, the group had to complete a log book of their daily activities and were presented with a certificate as recognition for their participation and contribution to the programme over the last few months.
The leaders would like to congratulate the young people for their fundraising endeavours in the months leading up to the trip.
The two youth groups would like to thank all those who supported the young people in their fundraising efforts ahead of the trip. All involved in this very worthwhile trip are grateful to CRED and NEELB Youth Service for their funding without which the trip would not have been possible this year.
