Cash from complaints

Carrick consumers are advised that on occasions “it pays to complain”.

That’s the message from the Consumer Council which helped to put £300,000 back into the pockets of 278 people who came to it last year with a complaint about energy, transport or water.

Consumer Council Chief Executive, Antoinette McKeown, said: “We have helped consumers with a wide range of issues, from flights being cancelled to receiving a water or energy bill which they believe is not right. We have also helped consumers who have not been able to access the support they are entitled to when travelling with a disability or mobility problem.” (Contact:0800 121 6022)
