The scheme is being supported locally by breast cancer survivor, Karen Case, who benefited from the services of Breast Cancer Care when going through treatment four years ago.

Encouraging Asda customers to get involved to help drive awareness of Breast Cancer Care, Karen said: “When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer it came as a complete bolt out of the blue, affecting me both physically and mentally. Breast Cancer Care was on hand to offer support and help me deal with the array of emotions and challenges I suddenly had to face. I can’t speak highly enough of the services provided by the charity and I would urge all Asda shoppers to visit their local store, find out more about #StrawberryTea, and lend their support to this vital fundraising campaign.”

Asda Ballyclare will host a #StrawberryTea stall with activities for customers to get involved with, including cupcake decorating and a teapot lucky dip. There will also be information on how the public can join in and host a #StrawberryTea, as well as background about the charity and the much needed services it provides.

All money raised will help Breast Cancer Care provide support for women, men, family and friends affected by breast cancer.
