A group of 50 tourism providers from across Northern Ireland - including representatives from the Bushmills Inn - attended a seminar held at Hillsborough Castle & Gardens on how to win and handle incentive travel business.
The event was organised by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board to help continue the growth of Northern Ireland as a premier destination for incentive business and provide the tourism industry with practical advice on how to improve their business base and seek opportunities to further develop this lucrative market.
Incentive travel offers custom-tailored programmes to unique, quality destinations as a motivation for company employees or partners and is an important high yield sector which can deliver significant economic benefits.
NITB Business to Business Manager, Willie Lougheed, said, “Understanding and satisfying the incentive market is vital for tourism development and a key to getting repeat visits. Guest speakers who shared their experience and inspired attendees with ideas on how they can win more business from this sector included Maeve O’Connor, Director of Sales North America, Irish Horizons DMC, Mark Nolan, Managing Director, Dromoland Castle Hotel & Golf Country Club and Ann Wilson, Head of Sales, Historic Royal Palaces.
