‘Brutality’ furore at video of arrest

Video at the scene, reproduced on the Lurgan Mail website, shows one instance where an officer appears to use his foot against a youth as heavily armed police work to restrain him on the ground.
A spokesman for the Police Ombudsman’s office said: “The Police Ombudsman’s Office was informed by police on Friday afternoon (January 2nd) that a complaint had been made following an arrest at Levin Road in Lurgan.
“Police Ombudsman investigators attended the area to ensure the quick recovery of relevant evidence, and have since issued an appeal for witnesses.
